Technical support to Gumla district for improving nutritional indicators

Save the Children has provided technical support to Gumla District Administration for preparing the District Action Plan to achieve the targets for Nutritional indicators under the Statement of Intent (SoI) signed with NITI Aayog for Aspirational District Transformation programme. The SoI was signed in 2019 to contribute to ‘aspirational districts’ in Bihar and Jharkhand to have improved indicators on health and nutrition and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). The SoI includes partnership for Gaya district in Bihar and Gumla and West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand.

Migrant children to be covered under ICDS in Bihar

Coming as a victory to our constant advocacy efforts in Bihar, State government’s Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Core committee notified that migrant children will be covered under (Integrated Child Development Scheme ICDS) at the Anganwadi Centre (AWC) levels.

Collaboration with DSE in Telangana to take textbooks to marginalised

Save the Children partnered with the Directorate of School Education in Telangana to print and publish subsidized text books for 10,000 children from the marginalized families. This collaboration helped Save the Children to use Government facilities for printing and publishing of materials that cut the cost by Rs 8.9 Lakh. Early learning workbooks were also printed and published for Anganwadi centres.
